Desperate.

well, 2molo will be our 2nd test for this semester.
and it's by mr ruhaizad. sigh~

Power Quality...
i've got a strange feeling we haven't
learn that much to actually
go through a test...
just feeling clueless...

I NEED TIPS!!! hahaha...

i bet the 6 methods to
prevent fault will be out.
so, heads up guys!

so, since i'm being nice, this is the answer!

lightning arrester
- placed every two or three poles along the feeder and the distribution lines.
- non metal oxide devices which can withstand high flashover voltage due to gaps in the path of discharge current

tree trimming
- to avoid branches from touching the line due to strong wind
- the branch will cause a short circuit towards the ground

animal guards
- to avoid nests formation. bird dropping are acidic hence, corroding the cable line
- to deter other animals such as monkeys, squirrels and foxes hanging on or biting the lines.

pole grounds
- to check tower footing resistance
- when resistance is relatively high, lightning energy will take more time to dissipate.
- hence, it has to be kept low

shielding wires
- placing grounded neutral line on top of power lines and stretched between adjacent towers
- it diverts lightning energy to ground

insulator washing
- using distilled water to reduce salt contamination in coastal areas
- contaminated wires will form conductive layer that causes flashover voltage.

well, these are not tips. but just something to help you guys.
for extra answers on your question.
feel free to drop a comment to shout it in the chatbox on the right
